'93 Ignition Cylinder
Hey Guys,
I'm working on a friend's Accord and we can't get the car to recognize the final "off" position, so the key alarm and dome light stay on, even when the keys are out. It's draining the battery.
I took the white ignition switch off of the back of the cylinder, thinking it wasn't switching over all the way. No dice. I turned it all the way counterclockwise and it's still beeping.
I'm going back over there tonight with some stuff to spray into the key hole. If that doesn't work, do you have any ideas? Which of the wires on the cylinder needs to be disconnected?
Thanks!

you dont read threads carefully do you? ok my friend let me tell you what he wrote HE TOOK OFF THE TUMBER LEAVING THE POWER SWITCH INTACT TO THE HARNESS JUST LIKE THE PICTURE BELOW. HE TURNED BACK THE IGNITION SWITCH ALL THE WAY BACK AS IF HE WAS TURNING THE CAR OFF AND IT WAS STILL BEEPING SAYING KEY WAS IN THE IGNITION. HE HAD THE TUMBLERS OFF. SO I DONT KNOW WHY YOUR SAYING THE TUMBLERS ARE MAYBE WORN OUT.

AND AS FOR YOU MY FRIEND. WHEN YOU GET THE CHANCE TO SEE THAT CAR AGAIN DO THIS. WITH THE KEY OUT DISCONNECT THE IGNITION SWITCH FROM UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL HARNESS. IF THE BEEPING STOPS THEN YOU HAVE A BAD CONTACTS INSIDE THE IGNITION SWITCH IT SELF
I was worried about that, but I think it was actually something inside the cylinder. I sprayed some brake cleaner in there and it stopped. Win! But I'll definitely remember that trick for next time.
273k and this Accord was still going strong. And by "strong," I mean, "leaking oil like a baby leaks everything." It's time for some seal work.
Thanks for the input, guys!
