Default 98 civic auto to manual - valve cover ground melted - help!

I know this must have been covered alot of times, yes i searched and searched.
ok First 1998 Civic ex auto, changed everything out to manual even pedals and such, finished it up today, and went to go put he negative battery cable on, and the ground from the valve cover to the frame melted, was a bright orange color and melted. What i dont get is why the braided clutch line warm? when we never got the chance to start the car.

Problems:
No lights on cluster besides ebrake and seatbelts
used manual p2p and have no CEL on, tried auto ecu too
braided clutch line gets hot and hotter when battery is connected.
fuel pump doesn't prime
Radiator fan turns on and stays on now even when key is out (getting direct power somewhere?)
where does the sensors on the clutch pedal go? i have to pin it out to something?

Please i need help with this. first time conversion.
no negative comments, im new a this and learning.

You have something horribly wrong in your wiring. Did you hook the correct wires up for the auto- Man swap? Check all your grounds. Go over everything you touched that has to do with the wires.

doesn't sound like a wiring issue then I don't know what does. I wouldn't be surprised if you fried a lot of the electrical in the car.

What ground for the starter? The starter grounds locally on the transmission.

And in the future, please summarize the technical problem in your thread title - edited.

Actually the starter positive wire was probably touching ground. You better check your fuses and relays
