Improvement at Infineon/Sonoma Raceway-VIDEO
I posted last November about my first experiences at Infineon being very daunting in my 180 WHP 2700 pound Prelude. New car, another Prelude, this one 2577 Pounds with me in it, 184 WHP/159 tq. With much less sticky rubber than the 225-50-16 Hankook Z214's I ran last November, I ran a personal best of 1:56.54, vs. High 1:59s last November, in much hotter weather....I now have 18 20 min sessions at Infineon, and the track is starting to be fun and less terrifying
I finished 3rd in NASA TT TTB CLass out of 8 cars both days. Last session saw me spinning in oil after following David Martel for a while (no, he did NOT drop the oil)...too bad as I was over a second faster at that point and could have been in the 55s...with 245-40-17 Hankooks 53s are not far away, and the car is still legal for TTB. I appreciate all the feedback from folks who said seat time would make a diff, it does. The Video is below...still lots of time to be had, lots of mistakes; selecting wrong gear, not using the entire track, etc..and yes, I do know how to heel toe!
I guess my brain can only process som many activities at once at this track at this point!
