Honda Accord transmission help???
I need to have my transmission replaced or rebulit. I asked a friend and he knew someone that knows how to do the work. He told me the guy has a 99 Civic transmission but I have and 2000 Accord. I have never heard of using another transmission out another make of a car. A friend told me he did for his Chevy but make sure the transmissions are the same kind or something like that. So i looked on auto trader and saw automatic trans for civic and accord. I need to know if its possible to replace a 2000 Accord trans with a 99 Civiv trans? PLEASE HELP!!!
I am assuming its a manual.
You cant use a civic tranny on a accord, well you can if you buy a bisimoto adapter plate but they cost more then a new tranny.
You can use any tranny from any accord 90-02 and most preludes Prelude trannys will work to and will be faster but will give you lower mpgs, You can use the tranny from h23 preludes, f22 preludes and h22 preludes ( Non SH )

I know there are conversion kits to mate a B transmission to an F engine, so using a D tranny might work... I'd just recommend finding the correct one for your car, just to be on the safe side.
And they cost more then a tranny. those kits are for race applications so you can use the gearing of some civic trannys.
