opinions on a del sol complete bushing replacement
im thinking of doing a complete bushing replacement on my del sol...not all of mine are blown but i know theyr old as hell, trailing arm bushings r gone tho...the question is do u guys think im gunna feel a dramatic difference if i replae all of em with the energy suspension poly urathane ones?
Poly bushings yes, are indeed stiff and are great for the track, strictly the track... not to mention they wear out pretty quickly in contrast to rubber.
Go with Hard Race hard rubber bushings, you wont be disappointed.

thats the thing its just my daily commuter i drive 80miles everyday, its sportline dropped n i dont drive it hard... Someone told me to get those over stocks but i dont want em if theyr gunna wear out hella fast....would regular new stocks be better for my daily driving over the energys?
The Energy master bushing kit won't wear out quickly. Hell, if you drive the car gently, they probably won't wear out before the car turns to a pile of rust.
yea im gunna give the energy master set a try...ill see how that goes,if along with the bushings i added new coilovers n struts my ride would probly be super smooth huh....ive never replaced any of these thats y im asking

Wow people are ****ing *****'s.
I have ES bushings in my car, the ride is not "violent." Keep them clean and lubed and they will not squeak.
I've read more complaints about poly bushings from people that don't even them, compared to people wth them.
if your going for a complete bushing replacement, go with hard rubber.
Also, I don't reccomend buying the master kit, most of the bushings they give you are useless.
The PIC kit is a little harder then hardrace, and is actually a little cheaper.

Also: having ridden in a "dumped" car with mostly poly bushings all around in the roads here in the city I live, it's not worth it to me.
Sorry for preferring my spine vs poly bushings
OP: get what you want, it's your choice not ours.

slammed cars just tend to ride harsher over bumps than cars closer to stock height. I'm dropped only about an inch or so (live in the midwest, need some ground clearance on a car driven all year round). I have poly in the back and on my old car had most bushings replaced with poly, sitting at the same height, on eibach ground controls (shelf rates for a 5th gen Civic) and koni yellows. It rode great, nice and tight. It didn't squeek, but I had stuff clean and used plenty of lube...
Poly bushings you can install with a piece of wood and a hammer, once you clean the old one out. The rubber bushings need pressed in. There you're looking at paying a shop, knowing someone who can let you use a press, or paying around $100 for one at Harbor Freight. Of course, just pressing the old ones out is probably easier if you have the tools, than burning them out and cutting the rings out on the ones that need it.
yea well im thinking the hard rubber ones would be better over all,ill just buy a smaller kit than the master one since it does look like theres a bunch of useless ones...im not to worried about pressing them in, i have a friend with a shop he did my lower control arm for 20 bux....im sure if i took all the control arms n he just pressed them in itd be hella cheap....are poly ones really that bad tho?
No, they aren't.
<-- Front control arms (upper/lower) and trailing arm bushings. My buddy's old car had every poly bushing you can get installed and it wasn't any worse then my car is... You definetly feel them, but it's not teeth jaring, back breaking or anything.

I've had the Energy Master bushing kit in my car for a while now. It definitely made the handling and response more crisp, but "bumpy" and "jarring" are the last words I would even consider using to describe it.
People want to lower their car and replace the bushings, then blame the new found bumpyness on the bushings. It simply isn't the truth.
