I have a '98 civic dx, with the D16Y7, its got I,H,E but im looking for a b series etc, more power. This guy wants to trade his car its a 99 civic SI, it had the full greddy turbo system on it but has since been taken off it has a
b16a2, it needs a header and it has a blown headgasket that i would have to replace. Also i could keep my rims. Just give me a run down if you think i should do it or not My body is in much better condition than his Btw.

 

NO. I wouldn't get a car that was previously boosted with that motor, youll more then likely have robs of problems with it cuz it was sometimes project car, also that motor is probably extremely beat up

 

Ok, your probably right, what are some quick ways if there are any to tell if the motor has been beat on.?

 

Compression and leak down test

 

The fact it has a blown headgasket is proof alone. Stay away from it. Find a stock car.
