96 accord hard to start
ok i have a 96 honda accord with the f22b1 engine. i just done a complete overhaul due to high mileage and blown rings and blown head gasket, plus i was getting water into my cylinders and it was really hard to start. i replaced pistons, rings, rod and main bearings, all gaskets etc but i did not touch the egr system. put the motor back in and well it worked fine with no problems for the first 200 miles and now it is hard to start again and takes a few minutes for the engine to catch up once it does finally start and it really only gives me this problem when the car is warmed up. my problem is that most all my tools were stolen and i dont have the money to buy another fuel pressure tester so i can test my pressure. i feel like its my regulator but im wanting to know everyone elses thoughts too, i know someone is going to say my main relay but i have eliminated that, plus it acts like its trying to start, just doesnt get enough to start, once started it skips like hell and after i rev it a few times the engine gets past the skipping phase and then there are no problems at all, its not my igniter because it is getting spark. i believe i have eliminated everything down to my pump and my regulator but i dont think it is the pump because again once its running there are no problems not even at higher rpm's. could the egr system do this? n e ideas????
