Icon2 94 Accord LX fuel pump will not engage

Hello, I have a 94 Accord LX, where the fuel pump will not engage. Im at 308,000 miles. Initially I checked the fuel pump fuse...fine. I checked the main relay...fine i.e. continuity throughout. So I thought I pegged it at the fuel pump. Dropped the tank, replaced the fuel pump, plugged all connections back again. Before plugging all fuel lines back in and releasing the car from the jack stands, I decided to do a quick test of the new fuel pump. The new fuel pump will not engage either. Thoughts? I have checked the electrical connections, checked the ground (which I ended up cleaning) near the fuel sender unit...still no avail.

You are getting full voltage to the pump and the new unit does not work?

Have you tried testing the old pump by directly connecting it to the battery and seeing if it spins while monitoring battery voltage?

Is there any issue with the starter spinning the engine?

Hello all...thank you for the comments. Yes, I tried hotwiring the old pump to the battery and it didn't work...only to verify the pump was indeed bad. I checked the main relay by wiring 12v to the respective terminals, then testing the other terminals with an ohm meter (per the Hanes manual)...beyond that, hot wiring the relay...you could hear it engaging...as it is a mechanical relay. Beyond all that, I finally did end up finding what the problem was. It was a bad ground at the fuel sender unit...meaning it was not grounded enough, when I wired it back after the new pump install. I had the ground wire touching the vehicle...which wasn't enough...so I attempted to fully install the ground wire that seemed to work. All is good now. Next big project is replacing the timing belt...ugh! Thank you again
