my friend has an 86 crx and i'm getting him some coilovers (just some cheap ones) anyways all they make for the crx that i can find is 88-91. Would they work for an 86 or not? Thanks

 

88-91 crx coilovers will work on the 84-87 crx models with no problem

 

the 88-91 Coil over kits will not fit the 86-87 Civic's. the setup is different. I use the ground control kit. the fits real well and works real well. I also sell them for 189.00 for the rear only. the front you will have to turn the torsion bars or buy beefier bars for the front.

Well, first of all...he was right. And second of all, even if he had said "CRX" rather than "CIVIC" he still would have been right. The 84-87 CRX and Civic have very different suspension from the same cars 88-up. So you need to buy specific suspension for your CRX. As mentioned above, it IS available.

Theres no way in hell they will fit. 84-87 Civics used torsion bars for the front suspension and the rear is a "live" axel or whatever.... 1984 Civic
