So i checked the codes and came up with a #12 which in my book is vacuum lines, egr valve or egr sensor. My question is will this cause the car to not start or is this going to be the start of a can of worms?

 

Do you have spark and fuel?

 

Could in rare situations. But as already suggested, check for spark and fuel first.

 

thanks for the replies. I traced the vacuum lines back to the sensor on the fender. took the line off and blew in it to see if it was plugged. put it back on and now the car starts. Trouble is, now i don't know if i jiggled something or what and won't until it acts up again.
