jumped blue plug got code 8
hello everyone i own a 96 accord that is a victim of all the flooding here in northeast Florida. So lets get to the point....i was put putting around Saturday night in what i thought was like ankle deep water but turned out to be about knee deep, it was showing signs of a wet dizzy and wires so i shut the car off. that is when i found out how deep the water was, i had to climb out of my window to push it to dry ground. sunday morning i pulled the air filter out it was wet but not sopping wet, wires and dizzy where dry but it was in limp mode (3k red line) so i jumped the little blue plug under the dash to get codes 41 (gutted cat) and code 8 i read around and found out that it is the tdc sensor, but thats in the dizzy? i know there is a sensor behind the harmonic balincer on the crank that just got replaced about 2 weeks ago. what i read said somthink about the CKP? is that the crank sensor that is giving me issues? thanks to all who will help! ghost hope you chime in!
how hard is it to change the crank angle sensor? it dont sound as bad as i was thinking other than having to rent the tool to pull the harmonic balancer and the accual puller?
The CKP and TDC sensors are both located down behind the crank pulley, mounted to the oil pump housing. If you had the sensor behind the crank replaced. Most times you would have had to have both of them replaced. They are sold together as a single wire harness.
Find out what sensor(s) were replaced and how they were replaced. Kind of sounds like there may be a wiring issue or a loose connector.
