Default White smoke when cold start and oil in spark plugs

Hi there,

My mom 2000 civic lx 4cyl automatic 4 door, when its on cold start, I see kinda white-blue smoke come out from the exhaust, and it smell bad . The smoke disappear within 10s. Today I changed the spark plugs and found the oil are in base ring. Therefore, what is the problem w it, is that blown headgasket??? Thank for all

its fine. you have leaky valve seals. replace those and you'll be golden.

as for the smoke. the blue is from the valve seals dripping oil into the cylinder overnight.

and the white is from the heat/condensation. go outside when its cold and exhale through your mouth. white smoke, same principle as the car.

correct

dont forget to buy the correct valve stem seals - exhaust and intake are different. installing some cheaper seals that dont differentiate between the ex/intake will result in the same issue a couple miles down the road.

He also said oil on the plugs.......oil of the electrode you mean?

Either your spark plug tube seals are shot.
