k20a2 motor tranny same as k20a ?

Default k20a2 motor tranny same as k20a ?

hey guys i hope you guys can help me out here please

im doing a swap into my civic si 2003 i currently have a k20a2 and im taking that out and adding a k20a is suppose to be a jdm motor. point is that im also upgrading my clutch to stage 2 but for some reason my transmission from my old k20a2 wont fit into my k20a. someone please help and tell me what i need to do?

you're doing something wrong then. wont fit how? make sure it's lined up correctly.

hey thanks for your reply,
im sorry for some reason i thought it was a k20a2 but is not is a k20a3 but when ever i try to put the tranny in the clutch is not letting it go in all the way. the tranny lines up but it cant be bolt it on.

your input shaft isnt lining up

Well the whole tranny is lining up ready to get bolted in but it can't be bolted in because it feels like the clutch is on the way ...

i dont know how i can say this more clearly

YOUR INPUT SHAFT ISNT LINING UP or you installed the clutch wrong.

Okay that makes sense . So it doesn't matter that the transmission use to go to k20a3 and now I'm trying to use it with a k20a?

Its called did you use the clutch alignment tool? Make sure the clutch disk is center.

Okay guys thanks for all your replys

I went back and tried to put in the transmission without the clutch n flywheel n and it fits, now the clutch is alined fine also ..so is Tht mean I'm still doing something wrong ?

I dont know K series trannys very much so I would say when the clutch disk is out make sure it fits on the input shaft of the tranny.
