Hey guys ,whats going on. So im having an issue with my girlfriends car ,its an automatic . Her car sticks in park it wont go in other gears. Sometimes itll go in if she waits awhile. I already checked all her fuses they seem to be good. I doubt her shift lock solenoid is going bad. I told her to press down the brake pedal & the brake light does not seem to come on. When she waits awhile then goes into gear her brake light does come on . Could it be she needs a new brake light switch or jst needs to be adjusted? Any ideas could really help thanks !

Also another thing whenever shes driving her car randomly shuts off..ive already checked her main relay..my next thing is her ICM or might end up getting a new Dizzy ..her battery cables seem to be tight.

 

Sounds like your guessing alittle.... I would replace the brake switch, if the brake light dont work and cant get into gear then its bad, might just make a connection sometimes and its only like a 15 buck part from part stores. You have to undertang how it works, its a plunger with contacts in a base. They can pit or get build ups on the contacts making them work sometimes and sometimes not work, but you dont want them not working while she is working and its retarded easy to replace.


Test your fuel pressure and coil too

 

Yeah Ill be getting the brake switch tomorrow along with ignition switch since the accords have recall for that also checked ICM seems fine along with coil.

 

When was the last time the fuel filter was replaced?

 

I jst baught the brake light switch along with the ignition switch so ill see how it goes ..& fuel pump idk she got the car about 6months ago with 183,+++ miles on it .
