Default P1457 code, can it damage my car?

I just payed 2650 to do a swap and repair a front end collision on my 00 civic ek, got the car back 2 days ago now my CEL light comes on reading code p1457 (evap system canister leak). I am fairly broke after the amount I payed for my car so Im wondering if this problem can damage my car? I was expecting it to be the o2 sensor which I know cant damage the car, but that code came up and I am afraid this could damage my car in some way. I plan to fix it but it will be a few weeks or a month until I have the $.

Evap canister leak has nothing to do with the performance of the engine, And will not cause harm.
It is simply the system that deals with the dispertion of raw fuel evaporites for emission purposes only. So with this engine light you can not get a smog performed until fixed.
First thing you need to do is reset the ECU,
Then watch and note when the light came on, how many drives, days, condition when it came on ect. Then diagnose and repair.
If the light does come on you will need to inspect the evap canister+all the plumbing pertaining to it.

If its a JDM swap that didnt come with the evap purge solenoid, then its simply not hooked up and you got a janky swap, good chance the canister is just vented to atmosphere or plugged ?????
A picture of the intake manifold, and it routing of the evap system to the can could be a good start, for guys like us to get a picture of whats going on.

Well I live in Fla so no emission/smog tests to pass or worry about, just to make sure, this wont affect my motor or gas mileage? You are positive no harm whats so ever can be done by this problem? I am very worried lol
