im new into building motors and hondas, but im currently out in afghanistan right now (in hte army) and im putting together parts for my 08 civic si... every website i go on to buy parts only comes with 1 camshaft and 1 cam, stupid question, but am i going to have to buy 2 cam shafts and 2 cams then? since or do they only sell them as 1 for a reason?

 

where are you seeing this? cam and camshaft are freely interchanged and refer to the same thing. if you're buy cams for a k20 they will be in a set unless specified otherwise.

 

i bought them from procivic.com, skunk2 stage 1 tuner camshaft, and i shipped it to my friends house, and he said there was only one in the box, and one skunk2 cam i bought for 220

 

what did you expect to get when you paid 220 for cams that retail 600? my advice to you, send it back and buy better cams.

 

i keep hearing recently hearing bad things about the s2 cams... whats so bad about them?

 

improperly designed that wears tensioners down fast. lots of people have problems with them, others dont. besides that fact, skunk2 in general is a shitty company.

 

wish i would have done a little research b4 i ended up with one of the cams and camshafts..

"Cam" is a short word version of camshaft lol. They're the same thing. If you ordered a cam and they sent one, I'd question if it weren't meant for a SOHC engine. well i meant cam gear.... but i don't no.. because like i said before i'm in afghanistan for not to much longer and i sent them to my friends house and was just saying there was only one cam gear and one camshaft

 

well yea i meant 1 cam gear and 1 camshaft... idk though, cuz i bought them off procivic, and the camshaft was only 650, so i guess i should have realized there that it was only going to be one
