stock 99-00 si fuel pumps
does anyone know how to tell the difference between a sohc fuel pump from a dohc pump. for the 96-00 civics.
I got a stock pump from ebay to replace my walbro 190. The par number on the stock pump is AF195130-4113

The stock fuel pump for factory twin cam vtec cars are 135lph. Unless you have a tune, The stock ECU is set up for that flow/pressure. And in some instances if using a 255lph. without tune can create a slightly richer condition for your car.
If it is stock it should have a fuel pump ordered for the 99-2000 SI application. Just get one from a local reputable parts supplier. Ebay and fuel pumps just dont go together in my book, unless its a reputable supplier, and you can determine it is the right part you ordered.
Also you must make sure that the fuel pressure is at stock values. You need the stock fuel pressure regulator in tact if your setup is stock, and check to see it is within factory spec.
Also factory non chipped ECU,
Stock fuel injectors.
If the engine is modified, it would need a tune, sometimes the tune ends up not being at factory spec fuel pressure, or 190-255lph pumps are added to increase the window of tuning paired with larger injectors. But simply disregard this paragraph if you are not heavily modified.

Or.......
Get a jumper harness and a chipped box/Hondata/ect.
And tune w/ the 190lph. This is only if you plan on continuing to modify the engine in the future.
thanks, the funny thing is I was on anther forum chasing this issue down and they said it was cool to run in the 12.5-13.5 range at idle.
So I take it there is no way to identify fuel pumps
So I take it there is no way to identify fuel pumps
If so they are on acid.
In closed loop, which is where its at in idle/lowload/low throttle conditions,
The ecu will target a stoiciometric fuel mixture of roughly 14.7 AFR.
I say roughly cause this mixture constantly fluctuates +-.4 or so.
This helps preserve the catalytic converters effiecency, and increases its lifespan.
So its technically cool lol.
cause there is more fuel being introduced to the combustion.
But incorrect, expecially for stock or mildly modded motors.
And you fuel economy must blow right now.
And for the identification of the walbro pumps.
I really dont know. Im sure if you contact the manufacture or the place you had purchased it from, might have your answer.
Or if anybody is chimming in on this thread can help.
I believe this statement is wrong.
17040-S02-L01
2000 cx
17040-S01-A40
2000 Si
Actually I know it is, so thanks for your input. The SI model fuel pump delivers almost 100% more flow/lph.
If your statement was ment to be a question, here is your answer plus part numbers.
Also OP, with the part number you have listed at the beggining of the thread is the unit you recieved, then you have the correct pump for your application (99-2000 civic SI)
Thanks to noz79 and his supplied RC engineering test on the same pump shows your part numbers match, so handle that pump swap before you get those crappy ventura county law enforcement breathing down your neck cause your blowing smoke like spyhunter.
Hope this helps.

BeeCee, so I take it you been out here before.
used to do some racing out in oxnard back in the day 99-2003
Aggen, Walnut ect. Back in the sticks when we used to have to wait for the last set to return before the next run. Good times!
If I had all the money i've paid into those bastards when I was younger, I would be buying a F'n condo right now.
I agree
Although at high revs I have seen a handfull of them burn out from running higher duty then designed for,
Ive actually seen two go out in 200whp b-series builds 1-5 days later, and one at the dyno.
But then Ive seen a few run out for years.

absolutley,
As setting the pressure to factory spec would be a no brainer,
Yet I have a feeling his rich condition is to severe to be a walbro thing, but who knows until he gets the 190lph. out.
Maybe it is possible he might be needing to test his OEM regulator if this does not fix the rich condition.
I would personally keep the 190 around for future plans
OP says hes not in the market to continue to mod this vehicle.
On another note,
Love your road car duder

well I swap out the pumps to day. I can say the si pump is nice, its super quit, the engine idles smoother now, although the engine feels sluggish in the higher RPM but that might just be me, but I will need to put my wideband back one to see how it is running. Also the car is backfiring less, and smells cleaner, so all in all Im happy,
Well I would like to put a adjustable FPR but I dont want to have any issues later with visual inspection.
And yeah I'll keep the 190 around so that day I decide I want to hit 200 hp I can do it.
