I think I found my badge number! 00-0532
I recently purchased a PY ITR shell from a member in here. The car I bought has an interesting story.
The vehicle was purchased at Tim Smith Acura in Fort Walton Beach FL by an older woman named Susan in early January '00.
As far as I know, the actual owner a drug addict, perhaps her man, started to part out the car to get quick cash. Ultimately he sold the shell to irishone a H-T member here in NY. He more than likely had the right intentions, but also ended up selling more parts off the car. I believe it was due to a nasty break-up with his girl.
Anyway, a few years went by and the opportunity came to buy this car, so I bought it. So, once I picked up the car, I made it my mission to find out it's badge number.
I tried asking other members to share their last four digits of their VIN, but they avoided me like the plague. Which is completely understandable LoL.
Through some independent research, I narrowed the numbers from 20 possibilities that Doespike provided me to only 8.
A few days went by and I was coming up empty. Until I decided to go through irishone's posts with a fine tooth comb. That's when I came up with this:
https://honda-tech.com/forums/acura-integra-type-r-8/00-532-anyone-know-2110001/
It's a thread made by Aquafina asking for the whereabouts of car 00-0532. In that thread I stumbled upon this:
I said to myself, "Holy ****! I think I found my number!"
I saw this and decided to look into it deeper:
After some more research, I found this:
JH4DC23181S001801 (which is the VIN off an engine) was sold by Karen Radley Acura in Woodbridge Virginia to a man named Matt in mid February of '01. It also happens to be a '01, so the badge that the guys are looking at is the wrong one.
I really think that badge belongs to my car. What I believe must have happened is that the cokehead from FL sold the arm rest along with the badge to someone in that side of the country. Not through H-T, but more than likely Ebay. As he had an account there with sales of ITR stuff. He even sold the shell to irishone through Ebay as well.
So, what do you guys think?
Am I going crazy here, or...?

I tracked down the R's last known location. Import Import Salvage. A local guy bought it and restored it, then totalled it. I'll try to find out the VIN of the ITR. The VIN off the engine is: JH4DC23181S001801
EDIT: Going from what I have, this car started out in Florida, was parted out by its cokehead owner. Don't know after that, but it ended up at IAS, where the local guy bought it and restored it. Then totalled it. Then it was sold to another local guy who swapped it all over to the GSR, he sold it(GSR) to a local girl. She sold it(GSR) back to him. He sold it(GSR) to another local guy. He sold it(GSR) to the current owner, who had a deer run in front of him the day after getting it(GSR).

It's a shame Honda didn't do a better job of documenting these numbers as they are truly unique. Sadly, if Doespike doesn't have an accurate account of the car in his registry, then it gets real difficult. It sounds like you have some good detective work going and I'm glad to see Aquafina was able to help you out. Best of luck in your research.
