There should be a sticker under the hood about the ac system.. it should tell there... Im thinking the car is new enough that it should require r134a..

Look at the A/C recharge ports. That'll tell you. R134 if I remember right has a different connector compared to R12. There's a Refrigerant kit that will tell you what you have inside your A/C system.

Pics.....pics....pics. R12 and R134a have the same number of ports. If the retro fit was done properly, the 134a ports have no threads on the outside....looks kind of like air tool fittings. R12 ports are threaded on the outside....kind of like a tire valve.

ok, i guess the car has been retrofitted, it has "air hose type fittings" threaded onto the schrader valve type fittings.

i was asking, if there should only be the two valves in total or a third somewhere?

It hasent been retro fitted, They switched from R12 to R134 in the late 1980's. After the clean air act of 1980 something.

r12 to r134 occured in 93-94 range for hondas. if it has the r134 fittings it SHOULD no longer have r12, but lots of people do lots of things....

it has been retrofitted, it still has the r12 label on the underside of the hood, but it has r-134a fittings on the ports.

ive read alot about r12 systems in accords not working good when converted to r134a, but in my car it worked very well (until the next summer , when it had leaked out.) i live in the desert near las vegas, it gets hotter than hell, but the humidity is always low in the summer.
