Default B18B@20psi vs. B18C-R@5psi

So this weekend st00pid just finished slapping together a turbocharged JDM B18C-R 11.0:1 motor into another EG Civic. In order to gauge its performance, he and Shami ran the two cars together from a 20mph punch. To bring you up to speed, Shami's Civic is an EG as well, weighing in at about 2400lbs running a bone stock B18B 9.2:1 motor with turbo, pushing 20psi of boost on pump gas. Best time to date is 11.8@120mph.

The latest creation is basically the same deal, but with a 11.0:1 VTEC motor pushing 5psi on pump gas. It has a thumpin *** system in it as well, and the guesstimated weight is about 2600lbs with driver. To make a long story short, the two hit it from 20mph and were neck and neck all the way to about 120mph where Shami's car was leading the ITR powered car by about a half a car. Woohoo! High CR ownz...

that is nuts. more info on fuel setups/tuning of both motors, as well as turbo sizing.

Both cars are running Hondata. Stock engines both (pistons, rods, sleeves, head, everything). On the LS, she's running a T04b & 440's. On the B18C-R, he's running a T3/4 60-1 with 850's. Nothing really top secret voodoo magic about it -- just good tuning.

Nice....keep in mind one car is running a 60-1 and one is running a measly t04b. Now if they were running the exact same turbo..that would have been a different case... still nice though

wild...ive raced a typeR (a real integra typeR) boost at 6psi (with a drag kit) in my turbo sohc hatchback (eg)...i was running 16psi though and i took the typeR by about 1/2 - 1 car. Although this was in colorado and the driver of the typeR said it wasnt tuning very well (doesnt everybody say that when they loose?) Never the less i wasnt that impressed with the TypeR has he spend a good $25,000 more on his car.

Never the less..i couldnt come close to a 11.8...im guessing high 12s.

Ive met Shami before and give her mad props

liam

(i just had too)

Ask any racer, any real racer. It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile; winning's winning.

Pics for you (text taken from clubsi ..what st00pid said)

98 JDM ITR swap

Hondata stage 3b
MSD 85lbs/hr injectors
TiAl BOV
TiAl 35mm Wastegate

GReddy Profec B w/ remote switch
Golden Eagle block guard
ARP head studs
AEM fuel rail and regulator
Autometer EGT and boost gauge
Autolink fuel pressure gauge
