Help: D series tranny ?'s (disassembly)

Default Help: D series tranny ?'s (disassembly)

ok, here am trying to get this damn tranny apart, and all i can do is get the case to come about 1in apart ....WTF?? i need to know what holds this thing together, i have pulled every sensor, and every plug, i remember hearing something about a clip that i need to take off before it comes apart, but i CANT FIND IT!!!!

There is a spring clip that holds the countershaft that you need to release as you sperate the case. It is behind a hole in one end of the tranny that you remove with a 3/8" ratchet in the square.

You will need a snap ring pliers and a lot of patience.

ok, i have seen that snap ring, but that looks like a bitch to get to.. all that is there is two little tabs on each end of the ring... damn this is going to be real fun...
