Alright I've done plenty of searching on google and on here and haven't found any conclusive answers. From what I understand Thule used to make a fit kit for the sol (#175) but was discontinued some time ago. What other options do I have??

Please don't respond with "they are ugly/pointless/stupid trend"
I ski regularly throughout the winter and bike occasionally year round, I need a rack. Thanks

 

I used to work for a bike catalog. I suggest calling Yakima and Thule direct and ask
what they can do for you. If they have discontinued items in the warehouse you may
be able to get a break on price for buying a complete setup. Worth a shot.

 

Wouldn't it be able t break the top? My top I wouldn't trust for a rack looks too easy to break

I don't understand the allure of a roof rack on Honda's, they create drag and wind resistance...

Otherwise I don't think you can fit one onto a Del Sol mostly due to the T-Tops

 

You can make it work. 2 ways to do it. Clip it to the sides like roof racks are meant to mount, or permanately mount it to the top of the targa, which you cant remove it, but it'll prevent you from tearing up your seals and it'll be a sturdy mount. Its not really recommended to even put a roof rack on a del sol but heres a pic of mine when i had one on it

There is no "allure" here. I go skiing often in the winter months and there is no way I could haul skiis without a rack.


What method did you use. Personally, I do not want to drill into my roof. Like I previously stated Thule made a fit kit for the sol which has since been discontinued.

 

FYI: Here is what the OEM Honda Accessory Ski Rack looked like. Made by Thule? Although the description says that some are "Honda engineered" which may be the case for a special roof like the del Sol. This option was available in the Canadian market. Note the image is pilfered from the JDM brochure because if you look carefully you see the st. wheel on the RH side.
