Skunk2 70mm Throttle body, Idle now high
Hey guys, so the most recent stupid part I bought is a 70mm skunk2 tb, don't know exactly why I went so big but I did, and successfuly messed up a handful of things. Most outstanding of which is the fact that my car now idles at around 1.5-2k RPM, which I imagine is due to the fact that the IACV now brings in far more air then it knows it is doing. I was wondering if there was a fix to this short of getting some stuff done to the ECU, and although I doubt it, it Figured I'd ask.
Also I'm pretty sure its running lean, but I'll eventually get around to addressing that..........
Thanks eh

Year/make/model? Any check engine lights? Did you replace the gasket? Adjust the TPS? Needs more details.
I'm also going to say this nicely before some others say it not so nicely but 70mm is way to large unless your doing some major engine mods or turbo.

Sorry, this is what I get for posting first thing in the morning, anyways it was originally a 1996 Canadian EX sedan with the y7. Now it has a mini me swap, ported head, built valve train, bisimoto cam, sk2 intake etc, etc.
I did not touch the tps sans moving it onto the new one, will look into adjusting it.
Also went for a drive, and did a quintuple take, and I'm pretty sure there's a vac leak somewhere, cause its damn loud.
Thanks again for the quick help eh

With the car on, spray some carb cleaner on the Throttle body to determine if it has a vacuum leak. Spray it all around the intake, the idle will change if you hit a leak with the carb cleaner. Dont forget to spray around the iacv too.

typical skunk2 it should have come with the gasket but you also have to put a thin layer of gasket maker over the paper gasket as well after I installed mine I had a major leak coming from the gasket then just added gasket maker and the leak went away but that still didn't fix the high idle and I'm at the same rpm as you
