Crashed my car n got it fixed, had a d15b jdm dual vtec swap put in. Car was originally auto, so it still has auto ecu in it from a d16y8. Mechanic says i cant put any ecu in to get the check engine light off, says the only ecu is made for 96-98, so basically i am stuck with a check engine light on and he cant run any codes...is this true? Is there any ecu for 00 ek with a d15b swap?

 

Your mechanic was wrong. The D15B came in 99-00 Vi-RS, so you need to find a P2J ECU from that. Yes, they exist. Good luck finding one. Alternatively, you could find a P2J from a 96-98 Ferio VI, and get an OBD2A/OBD2B jumper harness.

Ideally, you should find an OBD2B P2J.
