Default H22A Type SH

Do you need the Active Torque Transfer System (ATTS) when doing a swap in a 6th gen Accord

if you have to ask....its way over your head. to have atts work will require a lot of wiring and adding stuff for it to work.
you are better off using a non atts h22 swap.

It's only the trans that is ATTS isn't it? Or are there differences in the block as well?

Should be able to use the SH H22A4 engine, just drop the ATTS trans and pick up a regular H22/H23/F22/F23 trans. Anyone of those will bolt up nicely with no added headache.

Well the Intake I want to use isn't compatible with the ATTS due to clearance issues and the Type SH H22a has a higher Compression ratio and more Torque than the base H22a

What engine code is stamped on the block & head? H22A4 & PCF or something else? I always just assumed it was only the trans that was different.

quoted for truth.
ATTS blocks are different than regular blocks in a couple small but key ways. Simply put find a base engine and forget ATTS.

Not. The Type-S engines have a slight bump over regular H22's but here in 'Merica the H22A4s are all the same internally

You can bolt the base model trans to an SH block. However, you'll need to fabricate a plate to mount the intermediate shaft. If not, you can use the ATTS unit as an intermediate shaft and leave the unit unplugged. Just keep fluid in it. Loop the cooler lines or run an auxillary cooler.

Or just use a single cam axle on the driver's side with the base model trans? I haven't tried it...but it seems like it'd work. It would eliminate the need for the intermediate shaft.

or best bet yet get a non atts engine and make life easier, and not carry around the extra 50+ lbs of crap under the hood and not have any kind of weird issues with aftermarket performance parts.

^probably not. The whole thing is really complicated. I don't think a mechanical LSD would work at all with ATTS.

I'd rather have a normal trans with a mechanical LSD.

not possible to put an lsd into the sh case with stock parts, it MIGHT work with some custom bearings and custom seals though.
