bought a used p28 is it legit?
I just bought a used p28 ecu and found out the sticker on the ecu dosent seem to have any serial number barcode like my vx ecu. Or any other ecu sticker barcode with numbers. It just have numbers only 3782-p28-A02. Look like the sticker was put on dosent look like oem serial number barcode thingy says only just the number. Why dont it got barcode thingy.
But i already bought it how do i tell if its a legit manual p28 ecu. Bought it for 150.bucks
Is there any way to check if its legit manual p28 and does all stickers have barcode looking with the number below it? I was going to convert my d15z1 with a z6 head with im etc. B4 i even install the ecu.
I installed it without the head swap etc. Sensor convert and ran like crap. Idles crap.
I dont know any 1 that have this setup to test the ecu.
How do i know if i got a legitamite ecu?
Can i open the ecu lid to check if its really a p28 manual ecu?

Don't know why you haven't already. Sometimes there is the serial number on the plug that can be seen when you crack it open. Otherwise you'll have to take pictures and postemup.
Why would you install the ECU for a Z6 and have no Z6 parts on your engine?

Also... do a Google Image search for P28 ECU and compare your logic board with one from there.

okay i took off the cover on my p28 ECU. it dosn't have the sticker in the inside of the ecu. also on the outside of the ecu it says 37820-P28-A02 ECU.
looks like the sticker on the outside is not the real oem sticker on the ecu.
looks like they put another sticker on it i removed it to see underneath and i don't see any oem sticker.
heres the pic ive posted its kinda blurry but thats my phone i don't got a camera right now.
help any one is this a legit p28 manual ecu?
there is no such thing as a fake p28....just auto and manual.
stop being lazy To answer your question, look at the code on the ECU/ECM, If the last two digits are 50 and up (for example: …..-A53), then it’s an automatic. took me 2 seconds to google this

Yes there is. P05/P06 board in a P28 case, because some people are that low. See this article for details: http://technet.ff-squad.com/how-to/ecu.transcheck/
Uh, no. That's a bone stock '94 - '95 5 speed P28 IPT board. Occasionally a stock ECU will have an eeprom soldered directly to the board, but it's rare. Typically it will just have nothing. See below:
