Default h/f series tranny gear swapping

I currently have a h22a swapped eg hatch with a built head with blox b cams and supertech valves and a stock block with a 1 layer hg. The car just has a street tune of it thus far but we still need to work out a few more a/f and timing kinks. Well I just ran the car at IFO forthe 1st time and pulled 14.3 @99 out if 5 runs on street tires and using a m2s4.........which I didn't even bang 4th at all. The trans is way to slugish and falls on its face in 2nd and completely out of vtec and I am shifting at 8400rpm. I got a incar vid where I does that, I also missed 3rd but still managed to pull a 14.4@97, I will post the link. I currently also have a h2u5(cb7), a m2b4 and a jdm lsd atts m2u4. Ireally don't want to go h2b since I kinda got a gripe against bseries but I am really considering doing the mfactory 5.15 h series fd, the gearing and shift drops r top notch and seem to be inline with a 98+ 4.7fd itr trans.
I just really just wondering if anyone has ever used the 3rd gear from a longer ratioed trans like the h2u5 and used it in a shorter one like the m2b4 as 4th like how the dseries guys do with the cx 3rd annd use as 4th in si/dx/ex trannies which I have done before back in my dseries days. Let me know if it is at all possible

Your thinking is flawed.

But, PM me if you want to chat... with a phone number. I dont have time to type it all out.

Its not that simple but things can be done... However... Get yourself a M2F4 and call it done. Its the most widely available H tranny with the best gears for what youre talking about.

M2S4 is not optimal for a H22. Theyre cool to pep up a F22 setup, but as you found out... VTEC is an issue. If the ECU is not tunable and you cant do something about that (VTAK X over) That sux, not thatit would help the worse spacing the M2S4 has (IIRC the S4 has the same 1 2 and 3 as the M2Y4 -5th gen lude H22 tranny, with a longer 4 and 5)...

The M2F4 was my favorite out of the box honda tranny for H that people didnt want WAYYYY too much for. The B4 is over-rated too.

NO F SERIES GEAR OUt of any f tranny (OBVIOUSLY ASIDE FROM THE F20B) has any business in a H22 trans. Period. You can do it, but its dumb.

I AM running a 4:1 F final in my Saenz forged gearset box since 5th gear is 1
:1 and very short even with 26s on the car... But you dont have that issue...

Get a M2F4 and call it a day. If it s still to higfh, get a final. Youre better off doing a NON oem LSD trans anyways as the aftermarket final wont fit the JDM diff (LSD) anyways.

Im done typing. If you need help Id be happy to talk on the phone.
