Default 99 accord trans

I recently purchased a 1999 accord sdn 4cyl. 121k. When I start the engine cold, put it in gear, no problems. When I come to the first and only speed bump in my development, to an almost complete stop before going over it the engine wants to serge forward, then again at the first two stop signs. An a little bit when I go to accelerate. After that the car runs perfect. It shifts fine with no other issues and only from a cold start. Any ideas? I thought maybe tranny or motor mount but it never happens again after the first half mile of driving. The tranny was low 2 quarts of fluid when I purchased it.

I'm assuming it's an auto, Honda's are known to have issues with cold automatic transaxles. Let it warm up for 5 minutes before you put it in gear.

Before 2003 Hondas are known to have issues with automatic transmissions period.

OP, provide a bit more information on your transmission. Do you know when the last fluid change was?

Just to be clear. The 98-02 Accords (6th gen) had issues, not all pre 2003.

Yes, it is an auto. I do not know when the last fluid change was. I will let it warm up for 5 minutes first and give that a try. Although, when I put it in gear to back up from a cold start there is no issue, just when I come to a stop and start for the first 1/2 mile. I did not realise the 4cyl. 6th gens. had issues, I thought it was V6. Thanks for the info.
