Default Question to the 6th gen auto to manual swap guys who used automatic ecu

Quick question about some wiring
When i do my auto to manual swap (98-02)and want to use the automatic ecu for awhile (will be shopping for ecu and keys and ignition later)do i need to do any wiring still or do i just leave wires alone,i know i need to leave the car in neutral so the car will go past 5k rpm.....but i cant find a easy write up for using the auto ecu......i dont care about reverse lights just want to be able to start car and drive with the speedo working and i dont care about check engine light i know that will be on.....if someone could quickly elaborate whats the steps when using auto ecu or direct me to the link where it tells me step by step to get it going with the auotmatic ecu it would be a great help thanks guys....ill do the wiring later when i get the ecu.keys and ignition but very hared combo to find lol.....just want to get it running

i have a 5th gen and did auto to manual and im running the auto ecu right now... we left the shift plate in the park position and my car stops reving at 5k and has no vtec...

anyone know a way around this?id like to know also....

you said you leave it in neutral and itll go past 5k? i dont wanna move it outta park now out of fear something bad will happen lol but if simply moving it to neutral will make my car rev past 5k im moving it

has anyone tried using a MSD-2 step box to activate there Vtec solenoid? obviously you'll have to make your own wire harness to install that..but you'll have the rpm chips to decide when you want your vtec to activate... hope this helps out..

im thinking that the solution to this problem is going to be a Manual ECU and harness...

even tho you can get the car to run with the auto ecu... you wont have vtec and the motor will never run correctly unless you find a way to wire it that i havent come across yet...

ill be trying the park to neutral switch tonight when i fix the clutch pedal and will let everyone know what happens

The only wire I have jumped is the neutral safety wire for the shift connector. I had the same problem and all I did was use the old mail shaft and countershaft speed sensors from the auto and plugged them into the wireing harness. I believe the computer will go into limp if it detects an open in the circuit
