2001 f23a4 with about 215k on the chassis. I just swapped a junkyard motor in, with the transmission shifting fine before. everything with the motor went fine, tq converter lost about a quart which I refilled. I made sure the tq converter was pushed back as far as it will go, and rechecked before posting this. The trans fluid is at the correct level. First off ill shift to reverse, and it takes about 5 seconds before it roughly engages. Then into drive it starts in either 3rd or 4th, with manual shifting not really doing anything. ill start moving, and it slams hard into first before going back into 3rd/4th. I tried unpluging one of the shift solenoids, and it shifts into reverse just as it should. Then in drive it starts in 3rd/4th, but I can put it into 2 nd then at speed 4th. This is the only way its actually drivable. Anyone have some ideas?
