Default Tranny help

hello guys, as you can see i am new to the forums been reading around honda-tech for a while now finally decided to join be part of the community, and of course ask for help .

i got a gsr tranny with jdm type r lsd, and the inside of my differential where you insert the cv axle has this race i guess, after the splines of course and its missing a chunk.

long story short, i need to replace my differential housing because the guy before me had his half shaft bolts come out and it broke the inside of the race or that was what i was told. im having a problem finding the part prob because its jdm lsd not sure. any suggestions? would any housing fit it? or is it the whole differential i have to replace?

thanks in advance

basically it is the race thats circled that has the missing chunk.

*not actual pic

Well not only is it damaged, but it's also a stock open diff. Whoever said that is a type r lsd lied to you. Now is your chance to put in the oem R diff, it's a direct replacement. Assuming its actually a gsr tranny.

the pic i posted above is just a reference, not the actual pic. you can see through my tranny and i'm pretty sure its a gsr tranny. so where can i get the whole type r differential?

Have you pulled the trans apart yet? You might want to do that. GS-R LSD is viscous and takes a 14 bolt ring gear. ITR/CTR/Aftermarket LSD and OEM open diff uses a 10 bolt ring gear.
