i've just acquired a d16y7 from a 98 civic cx. i will need an alternator and starter for this motor. i was wondering if any d-series alternator and starter will fit, or will i need to buy the one specifically for the y7 motor?

on the same note, the motor has 150,000+ miles. yes, i know that's a lot of miles, but work with what you have right?

what do you suggest i change out while the motor is outside the vehicle? head gaskets, intake/exhaust gaskets, cam seals, etc?? anyone with knowledge of this, please help me out.

 

if you know it burns oil, fix up the head, im pretty sure any d-series alternator will work along with the starter. When you put it in use some good fuel injector cleaner in your gas tank. The techron stuff is really good, it runs for about 10 bucks a bottle over here at salvos

 

ohh ohh just for fun, completely rebuild the head so you have a 10k redline, that'd be fun anndd you could tell people you have a 10k redline!
