Default Rods too long?

stock f22b1 rods=141.5mm/5.572in
cx racing rods for f22 engines=142mm/5.591in

would the longer rods(+.019) be a horrible idea to pair up with the stock f22b1 pistons? or would the piston be sticking out of the hole like some f22a's do?

i know possibly a think MLS headgasket and h23 head studs would be a must, but with the added stroke height, would the piston possibly hit the head?

thanks

Those rods don't come with rod bolts typically. There are plenty of other cheap ones out there that come with ARPs. I'd look into those.

As for clearance you're fine with .5mm increase. But anyone that's smart will tell you to clay it first. Unless you're the original owner of the vehicle you don't know the history of the machine work done to it. It could have had a failed headgasket before and had the head milled for trueness. In that case, you may not clear after a .5mm bump.

Longer rods don't change the stroke. you'll have slightly higher compression and closer to an ideal rod/stroke ratio. I'll let you do the math... but just guessing the performance increase won't be significant. why is it you want to use longer rods with the stock pistons?

^would love that combo if money grew on trees, im justing looking into replacement rods for my f22b1 b/c i saw how small my stock rod bolts are but then again ive heard off and on about people using b18b arp rod bolts b/c they are also 8mm but i'd have to think they would bee abit short for the f-series rods, unless someone has had success with it

When people refer to stroker 4G63 pistons they're referring to the ones meant for the 100mm stroke DSMs. The compression height on that piston is 1.130".
