Noisy engine after rebuild with weisco pistons b18c
Recently I rebuilt the engine with weisco low compression pistons and manley rods and have always had a aweful noise which really does not decrease at all when the car is warm. Wish it was the belt but it sounds internal. I have put over 600 miles on it so far though and just put 18 pounds of boost through it without any issues. The video is pretty much after I was ripping on it. Let me know your thoughts

There's also a smaller clicking sound that can be ignored as its a boost controller. Obviously the louder sound is what I am concerned about

K541M81 is my pistons on the list. I also dont see anything on there about piston to wall clearance and they do specify other things.
I have been searching and found this video that sounds awefully like it. He stated in the description that the ptw clearance was too tight on #2 which caused it.

Did you guys take a gander at the spec sheet? At the bottom they specify certain things to check for. Its not listed.
Nope I didnt but if you were rebuilding a motor it should be common knowledge that you need to set the correct ptw. Why do you think that measurement wouldnt be critical?
Sure didnt. Bought them second hand from a guy who had them forever and didnt run them. Yeah really I had no clue on the ptw issue until now. Im sure theres no other way of figuring it out besides taking it apart again correct?
Honing tool on the cylinders. Was just going for crosshatches and not to any specs.
So again is there any way to externally diagnose this ptw issue? Compression test would not show this issue unless its very loose correct? Really dont want to take this apart again

Not really unless you can see scratches down the cylinder walls. To check ptw you really need to pull the pistons and mic them correctly then take a dial bore gauge to the cylinders
Here's another listen. This one you can hear it off and on. I also turned off the clicking boost controller

Recheck your valve springs and valve lash. Ive had a valve lash adjuster nut come loose on me once and actually fall off into the oil pan. It sounded that bad too. Has this built engine always sounded like this from day 1?
sounds like a bent valve/damaged seat...check your cam timing it may have jumped from improper installation.
I run coated wiseco's in my current car, they reccomend .0025 PTW which is too tight in my book, I run .0035 for under 450 hp for the coated ones

Yes it sounded like that pretty much right off the bat. As you can see from the second video it's intermittent but shines mostly in low and idle rpm.U
