Default sears point kicked my ***, but i feel good!

it's been 3 years since i ran the full track. i forgot how bad *** sears point is. i ran delsol on el-crap-po falken ziex ze-502 all season tires. not much grip but great for practice.

i need to work on T1 and T10. i'm chickening out on T1, and could carry more speed through T10. i think i got a good datalog session to show how much i suck. i will post later.

drove my friend's USTCC EK for a few laps. boy full race car sure feel a lot better than street honda's.

MR2 Spyder is awesome. handles like a $$$ mid engine car, and brakes hard (on magazine tests its braking distance is about same as 996 turbo). I was having way too much fun with it. delsol is plain boring compare to it.

datalog said 2:07 on the morning. i was a bit better in the afternoon. ITA qualifying record is 1:55. i guess i'm decently happy. i'll have few more days at SP before years over to get more practice. 3 years ago i didn't appreciate SP. now that i'm a better drivers, I appreciate everybit of SP. it's a fun challenging track trying to go fast by yourself... going wheel 2 wheel at it, it is sweet heaven. no wonder so many people list SP as their favorite track.

people say mid-ohio is technical, but that track has got absolutely nothing on SP.

A few people I respect say that Sears Point is THE best race track on the west coast.

Scott, who thinks that you can have too many good tracks....makes it hard to run them all often enough to not suck....

with the all season ze502 it corners around .90-.95g usually, never above 1g. but notice my car nearly did 1.1g, that is what elevation do for the car! the uphill before T2..., the T3, and the downhill exit of T6 Carosel (compression from bottom of the hill) all gives you extra traction... 10-15%!! that's what makes tracks with GOOD elevation changes so fun.

Thanks Man! I had thought about selling my Spyder for the past 6 months. One weekend at the track makes it all worth it. What was I thinking?

Next time I see you I'll have another 100lbs off and maybe 10 more hp. Should be even more fun right?

hi Hong, nice for ya to stop by.

philmagnavox: shameless plug. see http://www.dl90.com i will have the SP log available for d/l soon. i also got a log of watkins glen.

cal: SP has AWESOME elevation changes. in theory the GPS data has elevation info, so down the road DL90 might get 3D track mapping. but the programmer is busy adding other features right now so that probably won't happen for a while.
