Default Need some Idle help!

Ok heres the story i recently put on a piece of **** short ram intake that i got free or that i made free from my old job. I had some plastic tubing running up to it from under the bumper. I figured it was better than stock. Any way while doing that i notices that the butterfly on the throttle body had crap all over it. So i used some of that holley throttle body cleaner. It had all the sensor safe computer safe **** written on it. After i did that my damn car was idling at 2.5K. I checked for vacuum leaks as best i could and i adjusted the idle screw as far as it will go and my idle is still up around 1.6k or 1.7k. Its really pissing me off i thought this throttle body cleaner **** was suppose to help but now the extra fuel my car is pumping is probably screwing something up when i shut the car off. What else can cause a car to idle high? Also all this was probably about a week ago so i don't think its gonna get any lower. Thanks for any help

i have all the lines connected. I think i will just block off the fast idle valve and see if that solves the problem.

if your FIV was bunk you'd have problems with hunting idle. i'd guess you assed up a vacuum line somewhere.. specifically check your idle air boost valve vacuum. sounds like its stuck open (read: its not detecting vacuum/enough vacuum to close which its supposed to do after the engine has started.)

i don't see how it could be the vacuum lines i have had my car with the swap for about a year now and the idle just got messed up after that damned throttle body cleaner.

you probably got some of that carb cleaner in the IAC valve.. happened to me once but it cleared up after driving for a while.. do a vacuum test with a gauge.

im not sure about later accords, but 90-93 its on the drivers side of the intake plenum. its open when no vacuum is present and allows aditional air in for cranking. when vacuum builds as the engine fires up it closes.

is it mounted right on the throttle body or on the firewall or what? I'll have to check it out is there any way to fix it or is it one of those works or doesn't work parts. Thanks for the help

i am almost positive now it is the fast idle thermo valve or fast idle valve which ever you want to call it. I let the car warm up and it is still sucking air into the manifold. Time for a new one.

problem solved it was the fast idle thermo valve. The idle still fluxuates alittle between 700 and 1000 when i first start it but it evens out after alittle while
