Fuel Tank Ground, why would someone mess with this?
Pulled my rear seat out of my ef7 and notice that there is a butt connector on what I think would be a ground for my fuel pump??
Can anyone think of a reason as to why a completely bone stock car would have this butt connector here?? Or why it may have been done in the first place?

Im probably going to cut the butt connector off and solder on another piece of wire with ring terminal on the end to ground over to where it grounds now, which LOOKS to be the oem spot.
Just curious if anyone can figure why this would be messed with

It just runs over to the fuel filler neck cover and is grounded there, and the ring terminal and wire look factory and Im assuming the ground location is stock.

Not the best pic as I was just taking a pic of the deadner, but you get the idea

Obviously it's not a completely stock vehicle as the fuel tank has been dropped. I am sure if you would have actually inspected the connector you would have found a broken wire at the connector. Isn't this obvious?
Under the white connector is some metal part with 3 holes in it.
That is supposed to be under the screw and it's not.
At the LEAST somebody took the screws out of the cover.
