Yesterday I pulled up to my house parked my car and pulled my handbrake up. It didnt click or anything when I pulled it instead it just went back down. I took my console out to check the brake cables and they look fine no extra slack. The button on the handbrake appears to be jammed though. Does anyone have a solution to my problem?

 

With the button depressed the locking ratcheting mechanism will not work. Either the button is stuck from years of crud, or the spring broke.
