Accord will not start, but if you push the car it starts up???
Hello to all
My wife uses a 1993 Honda Accord 4 dr manual to drive to work every day. For some time now, the car will not start. The engine cranks but the engine will not start. Car is manual transmission and when this happens if you push the car to start it up, the engine starts up? She has also had the situation when the engine is slowing down in low rpm's, the engine will turn off. When this happens, she engages the key and the car starts. Another thing i notice is that the sound of the fuel pump priming will sound different from time to time. Sometimes it sounds like if the pump was clogged as it sounds loud and struggling. In other occasions it sounds perfectly normal.
Has anyone had this type of situation? Since the car is manual transmission, it can be started by pushing it, but if the fuel pump, main relay (was changed recently), ignition electrical harness (also replaced with genuine honda unit) ignitor ignition coil, distributor unit, fuel injectors or any other part is bad then the car should not start by pushing it.
Can anyone shed some light into this?
Regards,
Mark

Make sure the battery connections are clean and tight. Verify that the battery is fully charged. Have the battery load tested.
If the battery passes, beg/borrow/steal a fuel pressure gauge tester. Verify that correct pressure is being built when attempting to start. When fuel pumps start to fail they do weird/random things.
