Default G23 questions.

Alright, ive been searching quite a bit and im fairly sure ive found most of the answers:

I read a post saying that you CANT use an f22b1 block to build a g23...
I was planning on building it with an f22b1 block and a non-v h23a head,
Will I be able to build it with this head/block combo? I really wanna use the f22b1 block that I already have.

I read that when building I need to use the h22 timing belt, water pump, and head studs.
Is this true? Just wanna make sure I have everything covered before I start buying the rest of the parts.

Hopefully I posted this in the right section

Thanks

If you don't want vtec mabe it will be easier to use an f22a6 head. Has amazing air flow if not the best Honda head. Already has an aggressive cam in it too. AND it's a single cam. Iv looked into the whole g23 swap and read that the h22 head is pretty hard to put in properly due to timing issues so I will be getting a f22a1/6 head with h23 intake manifold with a bisi stage 2 cam, springs and retainers and k20 pistons for my build. That's just me though. I want to show people thAt you do not need dual cams to make big numbers. You should check out bisimotos insite hybrid. Huge numbers with that setup. I have the f22b1 in my ek. There is not alot of writups on these types of swaps sorry. Is there a reason you want to use the h23 head? Unread of an h22?

I had a g22 dohc vtec build and it was pretty beasty it consisted of a f22a1 block with f20b pistons which raised compression back to 11.78:1 instead of 8.4:1 it was a beast. After oil started leaking and little stuff here and there kept interfering i took the motor out to change the head back to stock. It is a head ache but its worth the extra hp and torque. Right now i have the f22a1 block with the f20b pistons and an f23a1 vtec head and she moves compression is at 12.66:1 not bad huh.

there is also a guy with a f23a1 block k20 pistons and a f22a6 head making 194 whp 162 wtq so single is also good. Mind you this has a reground cam but before the cam he made 180 whp and 150ish wtq so think about it.
