Default Tire size for 99 Accord Coupe

Getting ready to order wheels/tires for my coupe. I will be installing the Koni/GC combo to lower a little / handle good. Not going too low, but also want to eliminate as much wheel well gap as possible.

I have narrowed my choices down to 215/45/17 or 215/50/17. The 215/50 would give me more sidewall = better ride and less wheel well gap. I am just wondering if the looks would suffer. The wheels will have a little offset, so I know that using an OTS spring rate will limit my lowering ability due to rubbing.

any thoughts or suggestions?

The wheel/tire combo is from wheelfire, tires will be NEXEN N5000's. I need the better treadware vs. handling characteristics.

215/50R17 would be recommended, as the 215/45R17 would be a little short and prone to sidewall problems if your roads are rough
