FS in IL: 1996 Acura Integra GS-R, Cypress Green 5-speed
FOR SALE: 1996 Cypress Green Pearl Integra GS-R Coupe with a 5-speed, Sandstone (tan) cloth interior.
Mechanical
The previous owner was a mechanic who picked up the car from the original owner. The car needed help as it had a valve seal leak and low compression, which was why he bought it. at 117,000 miles, the car received an engine rebuild with all new seals, bearings, Type-R pistons, rings, clutch, flywheel, rebuilt head and other rebuild items. It has run absolutely flawlessly since then. It's strong, pulls hard to redline and gets ridiculous mileage (averaging 32+ mpg) as my daily driver. Summer tires and summer premium fuel see regular 400+ mile tanks and 35mpg.
Front and rear brake rotors and pads were all replaced end of 8/11. Starter (Denso) and battery (DieHard) were new as of 3/12.
Interior
The car originally had leather interior, but it was in such bad condition when I got the car, I replaced the front and rear seats with cloth that is in much better shape. They were steam cleaned when they were out of the car. There is one cut on the back of the driver's seat in the vinyl panel, and a few small burn marks in the passenger seat. The stock tan steering wheel was replaced with a black wheel and airbag, as well as a column cover. Floormats are black and were new last summer.
Heat and A/C work perfectly, as do all windows, sunroof, door locks, dash lights, defrosters and interior control mechanicals. Installed new Alpine CDE-121 CD Receiver with USB/iPod/iPhone face jack this spring. Door speakers were also replaced with JL Audio C2-600x 6-1/2" 2-way speakers. The factory right rear speaker has a bit of a buzz in it.
Exterior
The body is in need of a lot of TLC. It looks like it was a high school or college car, and has lots of door dings, scuffs and scars. There is new as of this winter rust on the right rear quarter panel, typical for Integras and Hondas. The hood looks like it was repainted at some point in its life, and not perfect. The spoiler has lost it's clear coat and can only be renovated with new paint and clear. The headlights have been refinished and shine bright, and there are new amber turn signals that were installed last fall. There is a tiny stone chip in the windshield in the driver's center. The body is not perfect, but can be a great project or a super daily driver without worry.
Tires
The car had new Mastercraft GT tires on all 4 corners when I got it, and have very little wear. They were removed from the stock factory 6-spokes and mounted to decent, straight, super light Kosei K1 wheels, which are out of production. The stock wheels now hold General Altimax Arctic winter tires, which are fantastic snows for the rough season. The car can be sold with both wheels/tires, or just the factory wheels with snows. One easy winter on the snows and one summer on the GTs.
Car is SOLD, thanks
