New welder/ Help with scrap metal
I just bought my first welder and I was wondering if anyone knows of a place in the Cincinnati area that would have some scrap metal that I could learn on? I checked at some local mechanics shops that I know of and I could only get some extra exhaust pipe. Nothing flat and nothing thick. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I found a couple steel/pipe plants that gave me some slitter and scraps. There are a lot on the river. You guys are right. There is a lot out there. Just have to find some people that are nice enough to help you though.

The classes are pretty resonable and you get access to all different welders and materials. They teach you everything from the ground up. I enjoyed it.
Also, you could try calling metal recycle centers and see if they have anything.
I recommend taking The Great Oaks welding class. They are a adult learning school in cincinnati.
