Default 82 Civic Wagon: Brake Upgrade

I just completed the 82 Civic brake upgrade...nice improvement. This is something that every 2nd gen Civic owner should do...true bolt on and a nice decrease in stopping distance. The 84-85 Accord calipers and rotors bolt directly up to the 82 hubs/spindles. Make sure you buy the preassembled calipers as the original caliper hardware is not at all interchangeable. This mod gives you vented rotors and MUCH bigger brake pad area. See attached pic....

Here's the rotor/caliper fitment under the 14"ers...look pretty good eh?

That looks great, i have a 83 wagon and was wondering if you know of any rear conversion and/or front suspenion upgrades that still give me the factory height. It only has 111k on it but its at the mileage that everything is nearing it lifespan.

i wish I did man...sounds like the consensus is to cut the front springs (like a coil) and use drop blocks in the rear for a 'mild' drop. Addco makes a front and rear sway but I'm curious how the rear will install and have contacted Addco for install instructions. I have not heard back from them yet.

There are some coil-overs being produced on 1stgencivic under the 2nd gen forum...they are in europe and are kinda pricy but would be awesome.

I believe that Gen II Accords started with the 1982 model year...

Neen, thanks for the info!

Where did you learn about this mod?
Is there a detailed write up somewhere?

Just wondering what all I would need to shop for before getting into the garage to get it all done.

Thanks again!
