Default Oil pan gasket change (86 CRX Si)

After only 290K miles and 25 years of service some of my gaskets have turned rock hard and are leaking oil. First to go was the distributor gasket, fixed that, then the pan started to leak.
With a lot of work and P B blaster I finally got the down pipe off. I was able to pull the oil pan but it was a real squeeze with the axle and alternator pulley in the way. Got it off but I know there is no way I will be able to get the pan up into place with the new gasket on it.
I see several options.....Pull the axle and/or the alternator pulley or maybe silicone the gasket to the motor, then try to squeeze the pan in.

Any BTDT's on this job. What is the easiest/best way to go.

Thanks

Lossen engine mount bolts and raise the engine slightly? Is the issue the crossmember?

No cross member in the way. It's the drive axle and/or the alternator pulley that it hits. Can't work on the car anymore today so I am fishing for some directions before I start to pull more parts off of it tomorrow.

drain oil, remove header, remove flywheel cover, losen all bolts, remove pan, Clean surface area of block and pan, Put on the new gasket "DRY" do not add any "honda bond", maybe a tad of RTV in the grooves (i kept mine dry). This part is important, Tighten all the bolts to 9 ft-lb of Tq (leaving flywheel cover off and its bolts out), once all bolts are tight, add oil, put on header, start car let it run to operating temp, turn car off tighten bolts to 9ft-lbs again, Let car COMPLETELY cool, tighten bolts down to 9ft-lbs again. Add Flywheel cover, and drive.
