Default H23 vtec

So I'm ordering an H23 Vtec from Hmotors tomorrow and was wondering if anyone has any advice or anything I should know about doing an h23 vtec engine swap in an 2000 Honda accord ex 2 door manual

I have a h22 swap guide in a 6th gen accord handy
know that it a basic bolt up etc...
ordering ecu with it so that's covered

anything I might need to know

H22A4 - H23A VTEC IIRC it's the same swap info. Why not drop it in and let us know how it works out for you. There seem to be quite a few members that come in and ask the same question. Then it seems as though they ether never go threw with the swap or they just never post back to help out others with any info on how the swap went.

Seems as though these days this forum is comprised of more takers than givers. I'm sure no one will hold it against you. If you feel that it's not worth your time to share your experiences!

Good luck with the swap

any ecu codes?

check timing, did you do the t-belt, water pump, tensioner before installing?
try another known-good ignition coil if possible, check spark plug gap (were they replaced?), check firing order

need more info especially any ecu codes to go any further...

On my h23 swap

I now am installing a p28 ecu, have swapped out f22 injectors for the h23 injectors (obd2), bypassed the resister module for the f22 injectors, rebuilt distributor with correct gaps for sensors

Expect to have running this weekend if p28 is done being chipped

You should use the wiring harness originally from the car worst case scenario is you will have to extend a couple wires.

for my h23a swap in a 5th gen, i used the h23a wiring harness.
if your dizzy is an external, be prepared to re-wire to a internal dizzy since the h23a dizzy is an internal dizzy.

my harness was a RHD harness, i just had to extend them and made an adapter for the internal dizzy, just like the rywire one.

Yeah I understand that but if his harness is still good why take it out? And about the external and internal coil part will be his decision. Internal is best tho.

You're not gonna find a 3 wire oxygen sensor for it, the best thing to do is to cut off a connector for 4 wire from a junkyard and buy some shielded wire off ebay and wire up your own. Remember, to cut back the metal shielded portion on the ecu side and put a butt connector on it, then put some wire on the other side and run it to ground. The signal wire for the oxygen sensor needs to be shielded. To find the correct pins, do a search for "obd1 pinout" to find out where to splice in your wires.
