Manual window regulator
Hello!
I just registered here but i been looking for advices here since a few years cause this is THE place for Honda infos on the net.
I done some search, but cound not find anything accurate about my question.
I own a 95 accord coupe lx,without power windows. The driver's windows started to be hard to move since a while and yesterday the lever broke cause of that.I took a look at that thing and it seems like the left spring(where the shaft is geared to) is loose and that cable too. When i roll the window up and down, you can ear a twisting/grinding noise. Is there any way to ajust that cable or do i have to change the regulator?
Since most accord use power windows, most scrapyard around here don't have them and the only one who does are out of price.Could it be easier/cheaper to make a conversion to power window?
Thanks in advance!

Does the manual regulator use a cable to pull the window up and down, or is it a solid metal X that works like a scissors like this?
There's a thread over here where someone posted a howto on replacing a manual window regulator on a 1994 civic hatchback. That might help you find your problem. I'd also recommend looking at parts diagrams for your car.

For manual, you might be able to take it apart and lube and it'll work again. But if some thing is broken inside then it needs to be replaced. Check the windows alignment.
I have a 97 Accord with manual windows. Had the driver's side regulator replaced three times; the first two times by Honda. I decided to replace it my self the last time; it's not that difficult. All three times the regulator just broke.
