SMOG In L.A. Question

So this will be my first car getting smogged in Los Angeles. Ive heard that i wont pass if i have a modified exhaust??? Is this correct? I have a Magnaflow hiflow cat with a Thermal R&D setup on my B18b.

I passed with a fart can and magnaflow cat. Just depends on the place, some have passed legit with b20's. lol
