How the HELL did you post those so fookin fast? I left the track immediately after the race and I only live an hour away!!!
So the race went to Ratcliff? When I left, the transponders had him and Corey at a dead heat.
Best race I've ever seen. This time I mean it. Corey and Alex swapped the lead 3 times each lap.

"thru #4 and #5 two wide...
"
ON just about every lap. somtime thru 1-5 side by side, and down roller coast side by side at least 3 times if not more... what a race.

Those results don't tell the full story. There was a ton of good racing going on. ESPECIALLY between Alex and Corey. I ran to start/finish for the finish, and I couldn't even tell who crossed the line first, it was that close!
Well, hopefully my **** will be working soon, although I did have a blast driving my M3. That thing is the best god damn handling car that I've ever driven. Not the fastest, but it is super predictable, and does exactly what you want it to, with no surprises.

One can't help but wonder what the race would have been like if the top qualifier on Saturday was able to run in either race.....
For those not "in the know", Adam Curpier qualified on the pole for Saturday's race, but blew his clutch on the last lap of the qualifying session and didn't make it into either race.

By FAR the most exciting race I've ever watched. It wasn't just that Corey and Alex were swapping places like madmen, it was that they were passing each other on skill, not because the other made mistakes. It was clean, and a THRILL to watch. It almost made up for me not being able to be out there myself - ALMOST.
Corey and Alex
Richard Floyd for taking H5 in style (with no brakes left)
Todd for managing to take two H1 wins with a blown headgasket and overheating engine
Scott and Karl for reasons that don't have to be listed
The $@&#ers who stole my car and kept me from racing with you.Matt
Jason Franza = Rookie of the Year

Karl Shultz = Driver of the year, no one deserved the award more, Great Job Karl..

That was some of the most entertaining racing I have seen all year, and that includes the stuff on TV!!
I can't wait to see the videos, but I'm afraid we are going to miss half the action because they spent half the time side by side!
Do both drivers have cameras? If so, someone is going to have to take both vids and edit them together so that we don't miss the action.
Good job to all the ECHC racers and award winners!

Seriously, that was probably one of the best races I've seen in quite some time. I've got a lap chart that shows 5-6 lead changes, and that's just coming across the start/finish. That's not including any lead changes that may have been regained on the rest of the course.
Novice group was running next, so I was on grid at the time so I didn't have a chance to get a close-up of the finish. Matt (Dragon) was kind enough to videotape half of the race for me, including the finish. The finish was so close, Control had to use the footage to verify the winner. According to Mark, it was Alex by a foot.
Good racing to all this weekend!

There is now an annual Rice-Wine Awards Presentation
Just realizing the irony. This indeed IS a Japanese auto manufacturer's series -

yes both did have cameras, but unfortunately Coreys video tape ran out before the finish
there is still some really good racing to watch and who knows what Alex has on video
