I got a new compressor and everything last year. This year every time I turn it on it makes weird noises when the compressor kicks on mostly like a hissing sound inside of the car! It blows cold but I don't remember those noises before.. Seems like every min or so it kicks on and makes the noise for like 10-20 secs then kicks off.. Is this normal?!

A friend said it could possibly be a leak in the system?? I don't know much about ac systems

 

Again, at this point, nothing that you describe is necessarily out of the ordinary and your A/C blows cold.

 

I have the same noise in my brand new civic. I was told it's the expansion valve. I hear it every 20-30 seconds and it lasts a few seconds at a time. Nothing wrong with it, just the sound it makes... very annoying.
